Enter Pets & Pals Photo Contest for a Chance to Win $10,000
Some say a picture is worth a 1,000 words. Well, if your photo showcases the unique talents of your pet or highlights the bond between pets and kids, it could be worth $10,000.
The 2004 Pets & Pals Photo Contest is now open for entries. Sponsored by the American Humane Association, the only national organization dedicated to preventing cruelty and abuse to both children and animals, and Del Monte Foods, makers of leading pet food products like 9Lives cat food, Kibbles'n Bits dog food, Pounce cat treats, and Pup-Peroni dog treats, the contest celebrates the best photos in America of pets and their pals.
American Humane holds a nationwide photo contest every year to raise awareness about the important role animals play in our lives and the bond between people and their companion pets.
Prizes will be awarded for the best photo in each of five different categories. One Grand Prize winner will receive $10,000 plus a one-year supply of dog or cat food and treats from Del Monte Pet Products. Five finalists in each category will each receive a Sony digital camera and a six-month supply of dog or cat food and treats from Del Monte Pet Products.
And, as an additional perk, all of the dog and cat food and treat prizes will be awarded as free coupons so the winners won't have to worry about storage!
The categories for the 2004 Pets & Pals Photo Contest are:
* Pets & Kids -- Children and animals interacting, the bond between
children and animals, or children caring for or helping animals.
* Shelter Life -- Shelter or rescue employees, animals, volunteers, the
adoption process, new adopters, pet/guardian reunions, behavior
training, pets and their vets, or animal control professionals. The
shelter represented in the winning photograph in this category will
receive a $1,000 cash prize.
* The Family of Pets -- Families are made of the young and the old, and
this category showcases the furry, feathery or scaly family unit.
* Best of Friends -- Pets as loyal friends, playmates, or service
companions.
* Talented Pets -- Candid photographs of your pet's favorite trick.
All entries for the 2004 Pets & Pals Photo Contest must be postmarked by July 8, 2004, to be eligible for consideration.
